Hoover SteamVac? Carpet Cleaning Question – Please help!?
Hi everyone! Here's my dilemma:
Our dog had many accidents in our bedroom while we were potty training her on our brand new carpet. The urine smell was still strong even though I tried to spot clean it myself with Nature's Miracle when the accidents occurred. I called out a professional carpet cleaner to clean the carpets. They did a great job the first time but the urine smell was still there. I called them back again and this time they had to use a black light and a urine neutralizer solution to spot clean the areas. The spot cleaner they used had this very strong fragrance and they told me the fragrance would go away in a few days. Four weeks later the fragrance is still there and it's still very strong. I can't sleep in the bedroom cause the smell is so bad, it makes me nauseous. So, I was thinking of calling them back out to do a basic clean again for $125 OR I was looking online and found a Hoover Steamvac Silver Carpet Cleaner (available at Walmart) for $150. I'm thinking maybe I could use the Steamvac with Hot water only to clean the room myself to try to get that fragrance smell out of the carpet?
Anyone have any suggestions or does anyone think getting the Hoover would be worth trying? Thanks!
PS. I've tried covering up the smell with Glade Plug-ins, didn't work. Tried vinegar and water, didn't work. I've tried Fabreeze, didn't work either.
