Help with my SteamVac Dual V by Hoover?

I am borrowing my neighbors SteamVac Dual V Model Number: F7222900 and I can not get the attachment to work with out water leaking all over the floor. Does anyone know how to work this model? I really wanted to get the sofa cleaned tonight as my baby boy is sick and I only have DH home at night. Thank you in advance for helping me out.
